Anthony Ken Foster

Anthony Ken Foster, son of Ernest Kenneth Foster and Beverly Sue (Penland) Foster, was born January 25, 1960 in Waynesville, Missouri where he grew up and graduated from high school. Shortly after graduation, Anthony began working for the Department of the Army as a civilian employee. He served as a Recreation Specialist at Ft. Riley, Kansas, Grafenwöhr, Germany, Heilbronn, Germany, and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He also served as a Safety Specialist at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital on Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In his spare time, Anthony enjoyed sports immensely. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, collecting memorabilia, and either attending or watching on television every game that he could. He loved the atmosphere at the ballpark. During football season, he cheered on his favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs. His love of sports was not just watching and cheering, but it also involved refereeing many basketball and umpiring baseball games. He just had a love for the games and loved being a part of them. Anthony also enjoyed listening to country music and attending bluegrass music festivals. He liked antiquing and trying to find the best item that he could. Anthony also enjoyed visiting with friends all over the country. Anthony loved spending time with family and friends and was always trying to make everybody smile and laugh. He especially enjoyed playing and joking with his nieces, nephews, great nephew Max and great niece Stella. The most important thing in Anthony’s life was his faith and family. At an early age, Anthony accepted the Lord and Savior and as he grew older, his faith became even more important to him. Anthony went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2022 while in the Life Care Center in Waynesville, Missouri, having attained the age of 62 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Anthony leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents: Kenny and Sue Foster of Waynesville, MO; two brothers: Jonathan Foster (Mary) of Italy and Eric Foster (Kathy) of Belton, TX; three nephews: Austin Foster of Belton, TX, Joshua Foster of Temple, TX, and Ryan Foster of Lake Buchanan, TX; several other relatives and friends. Even though he is gone from our sight, his fun loving, kind and compassionate spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 in the Westside Baptist Church of Waynesville with Pastor John Shaw reading the obituary, Rev. Lindell Shelden giving a eulogy, and George Peterson giving a message of hope. Eric Foster, Anthony’s brother, recalled his wonderful memories of Anthony. The congregation was led in singing the hymn “He’s the One” by Danny Creech. Serving as escorts were Ryan Foster, Joshua Foster, Austin Foster, Terry Foster, Kim Russell, and Bill Comte. Serving as honorary escorts were Bill Davenport, Nathan Comte, Mark Melton, Mike Green, and Mike Melton. Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Anthony Foster to the Good Samaritan Resource Center of Waynesville and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
