Paula Jean Wyatt

Paula Jean Wyatt, daughter of the late Harry Arthur and Betty Jo (Heydon) Post, was born August 14, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri. She passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 in the Barnes Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, Missouri having attained the age of 56 years. Paula grew up in Raytown, Missouri and graduated from Raytown High School. Recently she was taking college classes with Everest College towards earning her degree in Criminal Investigation. Paula was a hard working person. She worked for Tysons for a time and also drove a school bus which she loved every minute of. Paula began working for Briggs & Stratton where she met Ron Wesley Wyatt. They were united in marriage on December 22, 2001. Paula enjoyed selling Avon and meeting with her clients. She served as a Girl Scout leader and also worked as a volunteer firefighter with the Duke Fire Department for thirteen years; six of those years she was the medical captain. For a time, she also volunteered with the Pettis County Fire Department. In her spare time, Paula liked to be outdoors while hunting or camping. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and loved listening to praise and worship music. Paula was always able to tackle tough decisions over a pot or two of coffee. She was always willing to volunteer to help do something for others, especially when it came to kids. She loved children and animals. Paula will be sadly missed, but fondly by her husband, Ron of Duke, Mo; her eight children, Ginnie Albrecht of Eldon, MO, Ruby Curry of the State of OK, Mary Vergara of St. Robert, MO, Tasha Schlittenhart of the State of Arkansas, Joshua Dodson of Waynesville, MO, Lisa Conwell of Sedalia, MO, Jacob Post of St. Robert, MO, and Jessica Wyatt of the State of Mississippi; eighteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Teresa Smith of Clinton, MO, Tina Arlint of the State of Georgia, and Freda DeLong of the State of North Dakota; one brother, Robert Jones of Independence, MO; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by two brothers: Ronnie and Kevin Post. Services were held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rev. Wayne Strohschein officiating. The songs “Go Rest High on that Mountain” by Vince Gill, “When I Get Where I’m Going” by Brad Paisley and “In This Life” by Collin Raye were played. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Paula Wyatt and may be left at the funeral home.
