Randall Lynn Howser

Randall Lynn Howser, son of Leroy Howser and Marsha (Smith) Keen, was born February 23, 1963 in Waynesville, Missouri. He attended Dixon High School and graduated in 1981. On March 8, 1973 at the age of 10, Randy accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at the Shepherd Baptist Church near Dixon. On April 12, 2003 in Waynesville, Missouri, Randy was united in marriage to Diana Beth Hokanson. Upon their marriage, two families were blended and they shared four children: Zane, Ethan, Wade and Chelsey. Randy worked hard to provide for his family. He worked for a time with Key Sport Shop in Rolla, owned and operated B&B Creative Designs and then became employed with Lowe’s Chevrolet in Waynesville. He became the finance manager while working with Lowe’s. Randy obtained his insurance license and became the Shelter Insurance Agent for Waynesville. Randy was very active in the Waynesville community. He served on the Waynesville R-VI School District School Board for one term, served on the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed working with kids and coached them in baseball, basketball and soccer for over ten years. In his spare time, Randy enjoyed playing golf with his sons and going on golf trips with his buddies. Most importantly, he loved his family tremendously and would do anything for them. He treasured the times spent with his kids, but especially his grandson, Blake. Randy went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He had attained the age of 52 years. Randy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Diana Howser of Waynesville, MO; four children: Zane, Ethan, Wade and Chelsey Howser; one grandson: Blake Howser; mother: Marsha Keen and husband David of Clever, MO; special parents: Bill and Ruth Ann Noakes of Waynesville, MO; father and mother-in-law: David and Connie Hokanson of Laquey, MO; brother-in-law: Mark Hokanson and his wife Kim of Waynesville, MO; sister-in-law: Debby Bahr and her husband Adam and their daughters, Makena and Kaylee of O’Fallon, MO; two sisters: Connie Rollins and husband Ronnie of Dixon, MO and Dana Williams of Kansas City, MO; other relatives and friends. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Howser and one sister, Gina Howser. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the Westside Baptist Church of Waynesville with Pastor Lindell Shelden officiating. The songs “How Great Thou Art” by Elvis Presley and “Go Rest High on that Mountain” by Vince Gill were played. Becky Lercher sang “Amazing Grace”. Serving as escorts were Earl Arnold, Mike Bowersock, Kerry Zweerink, Gerry Lewis, Georgie Allen and Scott Noakes. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Randy Howser to the kids college fund and may be left at the funeral home.
