Alva Eugene Foote

Alva Eugene Foote, son of the late Paul Leslie Foote and Erdis Iro (Decker) Foote, was born February 29, 1940 in Pulaski County, Missouri. During his school years, Alva attended Pleasant Grove School and Richland High School. On July 11, 1959, Alva was united in marriage to Lela Marie Miller in Waynesville, Missouri. They shared several years of marriage together before she preceded him in death in 1985. They were blessed with five children: Cecil, Ed, Annette, Charlene, and Pauline. Alva was a hardworking man and took great pride in providing for his family. He worked as an auto mechanic, and for many years worked for Pulaski County Water District #1 in maintenance and support. He also enjoyed farming and never really considered it a job. Early in his life, he enjoyed being outdoors while camping, fishing, and hunting. He always looked forward to trips to Colorado with his friends to elk hunt and deep-sea fishing in Florida. Daily you would find him at the local coffee shop having breakfast with his friends. A couple of his other favorite pastimes were playing the scratcher tickets and going to the casinos. Alva loved his family dearly and would do anything for them. He enjoyed spending time with them every chance they could get together and especially loved to go to the livestock auction with his granddaughter, Jake. At an early age, Alva made an important decision in his life and was baptized at the Buckhorn Christian Church. Alva went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in his home having attained the age of 82 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his four children: Cecil Foote (Janis) of Lebanon, MO, Ed Foote (Stacey) of Laquey, MO, Annette Farias of Laquey, MO, and Charlene Foote of Laquey, MO; seven grandchildren: Nathan, Jake (Nick), Matthew (Stefi), Lela (Chad), Faith (Brian), Jennifer (Kurt), and Dylan (Amber); sixteen great grandchildren: Clabe, Ripleigh, Wilson, Winter, Elan, Lil Nate, Dakota, Chance, Tatum, Theo, Maverick, Katie, Kris, Dakota, Bostyn, and Landree; one sister: Evelyn Davis of Richland, MO; two nephews: Bob Scott and Cliff Davis; two nieces: Janet Minor and Julia Vasco; several great nieces, nephews, and cousins; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Alva was preceded in death by his daughter: Pauline Foote; and one sister: Belle Scott. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. Soloist, Gilbert Crismon sang, “Peace in the Valley” and “Farther Along” and was accompanied by pianist, Becky Lercher. Serving as escorts were Nathan Farias, Jake Meizler, Matthew Foote, Lela Foote, Faith Sullins, and Wilson Murray. Honorary escorts included Clarence Weiners, Norman Gan, and Wes Ellzey. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, MO. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Alva Foote and may be left at Memorial Chapel of Richland.
