CW3 (Ret) Andrew Griffin Jr.

Andrew Griffin, Jr. was born in Earle, Arkansas on December 20, 1951, to the late Andrew Griffin, Sr. and the late Lovennis White-Griffin. He was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2026. Andrew graduated from Dunbar High School with the Class of 1970. Andrew was a proud United States military veteran, dedicating 20 years to honorable service and retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. Throughout his career, he received several awards and commendations, including the Meritorious Service Medal – 2nd Award, Army Commendation Medal – 5th Award, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal – 3rd Award, National Defense Service Medal – 2nd Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon – 3rd Award, Safe Drivers Badge, Mechanic Badge, and Expert Qualification Badge M-16 Rifle. While stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, he served with the 5th Engineer Battalion. After retiring from the military, Andrew continued his commitment to service with the Department of Defense TACOM (Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command). He remained actively involved with the 44th Engineer Battalion Association, preserving lifelong connections with his fellow service members. Andrew’s military career took him around the world, serving in and visiting many countries such as Korea, Germany, Canada, Iraq, Afghanistan, and more. While stationed in Seoul, South Korea, he met the love of his life, Aekyong Kim. They were married on February 11, 1974, and together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and shared experiences across the globe. Andrew was admired and loved by many. Renowned for his strong work ethic, he was a devoted provider who proudly cared for his family. He lived a life marked by service, strength, and integrity. Most importantly, he cherished his family and will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Affectionately known as “Bunny”, “Junior” or “Andy” by close friends and family, Andy leaves behind a legacy of faith, honor, and unwavering love. He was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Udell; his mother, Lovennis White-Griffin; and his father, Andrew Griffin. Andrew leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, AeKyong Griffin of the home; four children, Angela Griffin of Alexander, AR, Amy Griffin of Little Rock, AR, Jerome Griffin of Little Rock, AR, and James Griffin of Waynesville, MO; nine grandchildren, Deante Gaskins, Jaylon Mosby, Jasmin Mosby, Jordan Griffin, Kyra Griffin, Myles Khabeer, Omarion Talbert, Amia Griffin, and Alyza Griffin; four great-grandchildren, Gianna Mosby, Kai Washington, Aaliyah Mosby, and Kiyomi Washington. He is also survived by six siblings: Hazel Walker of Little Rock, AR, Elizabeth Smith-McKinney (Tyree) of Little Rock, AR, Beverly Wade (Guy) of Little Rock, AR, Dwayne Griffin (Tracina) of Kansas City, MO, Darren Griffin of Bryant, AR, and Carlton White (Dinora) of Lawrenceville, GA; brother-in-law, Eugene Udell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Though he has transitioned from this earthly life, Andrew’s commitment to his country and family will live on in our hearts forever. Funeral services were held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2026, in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Eugene Udell, Sr. officiating. Scripture reading and obituary reading was provided by Tyria White, opening prayer by Guy Wade, acknowledgments by Tondalayo Wade, and video by Jerome Griffin. Serving as honorary escorts were Dwayne Griffin, Darren Griffin, Carlton White, Jerome Griffin, and James Griffin. Burial with military honors followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri with military honors being provided by the United States Army of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Andrew Griffin and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
