Audrey Lea (Oursbourn) Durham

Audrey Lea Durham, 85, daughter of Aubrey Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Oliver Oursbourn, was born September 25, 1935, in Olton, Texas and departed this life July 14, 2021, at her home in Richland, Missouri. On July 13, 1982, she was united in marriage to Melvin Stanley (Doc) Durham and together they shared 38 loving years of marriage. Audrey was always such a hard worker. While growing up in Texas, she worked on her parent’s farm, picking cotton, milking cows, and doing whatever she could to help. After graduation from Olton High School, she moved to Missouri, married, and raised her family. She worked for Brown Shoe Company and later was employed as a Supervisor at H.D. Lee in Richland, where she retired after 35 years. After retirement from Lee, Audrey worked for many years at Ozark Fisheries with her husband, Doc. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, reading, and tending to her yard and her many flowers. She was a wonderful cook and loved family gatherings. Time spent with her family is what she treasured most. Audrey professed her faith in Christ at a young age and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Audrey is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Doc Durham of the home; children, Ricky Hooker (Jane) of Auxvasse, MO, Stephen Hooker of Richland, MO, Sandy Botello (Mike) of Camdenton, MO, Paul Hooker (Patty) of Richland, MO, and Cindy Zeigenbein of Stoutland, MO; three sisters, Mary Brady of Hollister, CA, Helen McClure Canyon, TX, and Peggy Ross of El Cajon, CA; three brothers, Don Oursbourn (Theresa) of Lubbock, TX, Ron Oursbourn (Nancy) of Springfield, MO, and Cecil Oursbourn (Janice) of Lonoke, AR; grandchildren, Justin Gage (Cadri), Ashley Waterman (Brandon), Jarrod Hooker (Kimberleigh), Jamie Reid, Jennifer Gum (Randy), Seth Hooker (Sarah), Sam Hooker (Cassa), and Christian Zeigenbein; 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as, a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gary Oursbourn, and an infant daughter, Nancy. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 19, 2021, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Speaker, Jimmy Bentch officiating. Music selections included “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” “Amazing Grace,” and “I Love to Tell the Story.” Serving as escorts were Christian Zeigenbein, Barry Oursbourn, Marion Light, John Johnston, David Prebble, and Mac Myers. Burial followed in the Campground Cemetery near Stoutland, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
