Bonnie Ernestine Luebken

Bonnie Ernestine Luebken, one of 10 children born to the union of the late Fred and Maude (Hammonds) Watts, was born April 22, 1918 in Richland, Missouri. She was a graduate of Richland High School, Class of 1935 where she was very active. As a young girl, Bonnie was baptized in the First Christian Church of Richland. On February 14, 1958, Bonnie married her sweetheart, Virgil A. Luebken at the First Christian Church of Richland. They made their home in Richland and enjoyed many wonderful years together until Virgil preceded her in death. Bonnie was privileged to be a stay at home mom. She loved taking care of her family and she loved her family very much. She enjoyed family get-togethers and her favorite time of the year was Christmas. Everyone always came to her house on Christmas Eve and enjoyed themselves immensely. In her spare time, Bonnie was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. She always kept track of what was happening with the team and if anyone had any questions about them, you knew to ask Bonnie. Bonnie also enjoyed bowling and was bowling even until she was in her 80s. As the years went by, Bonnie enjoyed just going for rides in the car and enjoying the scenery. Bonnie went home to be with her Lord at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 in the Richland Care Center. Bonnie will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory four children: Marilyn Sue Brand of Roanoke, AL, Freddie Joe Jones, Sandra Kay Robinson and Mabel Lee Jones and best friend Cynthia English, all of Waynesville, MO; grandchildren: Buzz Hendrix and his wife Roxanne, Sherry McNulty, JayJay Marcum, Donna Shelton, Darrell Shelton, Sue Brand, Johnny Becknell, James Brand, Tonya Connell, Carole Zeimes, Natasha Mathus and several grandchildren; great grandchildren: Jackson and Ella Marcum, Christopher Hendrix, Megan McNulty and several other great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren: Brayden Hendrix, Lainey and Logan Connell, Xzavier, Makayla, and Islena Zeimes and Ryan and Matthew Mathus; several other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by one daughter: Beverly Jean Jones; 6 infant siblings; one brother: Henry E. Warren Watts; and two sisters: Winona Noyes and Mable Kirkpatrick. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Rev. Larry Atkins officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang “Serenaded By Angels” and the song “One Day at a Time” was also played. Serving as escorts were Buzz Hendrix, Brad Mathus, Chris Hendrix, Mark Karr and Coy Workman. A private graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland.
