Charles David Hamilton

Charles David Hamilton, son of the late Doyle A. Hamilton and Roena E. (Grainger) Hamilton, was born on New Year’s Day, January 1, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri. As a young boy, Charles grew up in the Salem, Missouri area where he attended school and graduated from high school. Shortly after graduation, Charles entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully, serving in Germany for two years before his honorable discharge. After coming back to Missouri, Charles took over his family’s business and operated it along with overseeing many rental properties. He was a hardworking man and took great pride in taking care of his business. On December 6, 2002, Charles was united in marriage to Chong (Kim) in St. Robert, Missouri. They shared 23 years of marriage together and at the time of their union, two families were blended. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed flying his airplane or taking his boat out for a day at the lake. He also enjoyed skiing and loved to go scuba diving. Charles was able to take the trip of a lifetime when he traveled to Africa with his brother Howard. He was always full of good advice for his kids and loved to share his knowledge of different topics, including history. Most importantly, he loved his family and treasured the times that they could spend together. Charles passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, in his home having attained the age of 81 years. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolphia Elaine Hamilton. Charles leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Chong Hamilton of the home; two daughters: Michelle Ulmer (Kevin) of Derby, KS, and Angela Hamilton of Meridan, ID; bonus children: Heather Wages of St. Robert, MO and Robert Wages (Vanessa) of St. Robert, MO; two grandchildren: Levi Charles Ulmer and Finn Callender; three bonus grandchildren: Julian Pitts, Lavon Haggard-Bey, and Bella Wages; one brother: Howard Hamilton (Laura) of O’Fallon, IL; other relatives and friends. Even though Charles is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Curtis Felton officiating. The songs "Imagine" by John Lennon and "Let It Be" by the Beatles were played. Serving as escorts were family and friends. Burial with military honors followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville with military honors being provided by the Missouri Honors Team. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles Hamilton and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
