SFC (Ret) Claude Junior Wilson

Claude J Wilson went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo. He was born in Waxahachie, TX on March 23, 1941 to the late Katie Mae Hopkins and George Jones. He was educated in the Ellis County Public School System. He accepted Christ at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church in Waxahachie, TX. On October 19, 1969 he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Overton. Both had children from previous marriages. From this union, two daughters were born. Claude joined the military in 1965 where he served proudly for 20 years. After retiring, he began working in the Missouri Department of Corrections where he worked off and on for 10 years. He was Deacon and active member of First Baptist Church of St. Roberts, St. Roberts, MO. He had a sense of humor. He recently celebrated the 51st anniversary of his “22nd” birthday. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and two sisters Vanessa Wright and Willie Mae Donalson. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patricia, daughters Claudette Neil of Wichita Falls, TX, Frenchette Wilson of San Leandro, CA , Marianne Hill, of California Sharon Hall of Tracy, CA, Anita Perez of Enterprise, AL, Wynona Bouyea (Randolph) of Bristow, VA, Patricia Story of Little Elm, TX, Latesha Fields (Fabian) of Waverly, VA and Shoshana Wilson of Dothan, AL, sons Billy Wilson (Jessica) of Denver, CO, Charles Smith of Palm Branch, SC, a brother Nathaniel Hopkins (Caroline)of Frost, TX, a sister Robbie Frazier of Richardson, TX, three sister-in-laws Georgia Jackson, Dallas, TX, Laura McCullar (Charles) of Waxahachie, TX, Homer Mae Story of Dallas, TX, one brother-in-law C.H. Overton of Red Oak, TX, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Services were held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, April 18, 2014 in the First Baptist Church of St. Robert, Missouri with Pastor Bill Dudley officiating. Soloist Cassie Allen provided the special music. Serving as escorts were the United States Army. Burial with military honors followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville. Military honors were provided by the United States Army of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Claude Wilson and may be left at the funeral home.
