Delores Churn

Delores Turner Churn was the 9th child of the late Clarence and Ardelia (Kittrell) Turner. Born on June 13, 1938 in McCrory, Arkansas. Delores departed this life on January 28th, 2020. Delores Turner, married John Bill Nelson Churn on January 13, 1964 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They had 5 children, Phyllis, Karen, Clarence, Stacy, and Cheryl. Delores professed her hope in Christ at an early age. She was baptized by Rev. Al Bosley. She was a faithful member of the Morning View Baptist Church North in McCrory. She served as church secretary, taught adult Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served as the Secretary of the Community Singing Federation. Later she joined The First Baptist Church of St. Robert, Missouri under the leadership of Rev. Mel Watson. There she served on several committees such as the Finance, Personal, and the Nominating committee. She was a faithful member there until the time of her death. Delores was a graduate of Brown High School in McCrory and she held a Bachelor’s degree from Drury University in Springfield, MO. Her hobbies included reading, watching TV, doing crossword puzzles and working on the computer. Delores leaves to mourn her passing, 3 daughters, Phyllis Snyder of St. Robert, MO, Karen Churn of Warrensburg, MO, and Cheryl Bonner (Glenn) of Jefferson City, MO, and 2 sons, Clarence Churn (Tina) of Westminster, CA and Stacy Churn of McAllen, Tx. 6 granddaughters, Alise Evans (Devon) of Tacoma, WA, Jasmine and Angelia Churn of Westminster, Ca, Alicia, Cherice, and Aaliyah Churn of McAllen, Tx, 1 grandson, Dominique Maxwell (Briana) of Branson, MO, 2 great granddaughters, Tyania Evans of Colorado Springs, CO and Violet Maxwell of Branson, MO and 3 great grandsons, Jayden Evans of Tacoma WA, Shawn Hutchison of Westminster, CA, and Quinn Maxwell of Branson, MO and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones. Delores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John B. Churn, her mother and father, Clarence and Ardelia Turner, 5 brothers, Robert Turner, Albert Turner, Walter Turner, Melvin Turner and Harrison Turner, 3 sisters, Dorothy Turner, Earlean Kyle, and Genevieve DeLoach, 1 aunt, Elizzia Campbell, and a beloved niece Rosemary Wright Akins. Delores will be sorely missed by many. Memorial Contributions on behalf of Delores Churn may be donated to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave, Ste 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or www.pancan.org. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 in the First Baptist Church of St. Robert, Missouri with Pastor Terrance Golden Sr. officiating. Music was provided by Cassie Allen and the church choir. Serving as escorts were Clarence Turner, Willis Jackson, Michael DeLoach, Andre DeLoach, Ben Pickens and Larry Maddox. Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park of Waynesville. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
