Donna Lee Wann

Donna Lee Wann, daughter of Donald A. and Lexie Grace (Klash) Frederick, was born May 19, 1951 in Colver, Pennsylvania. Donna grew up in Strongstown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Penns Manor High School. In 1973, Donna entered the United States Army. She served her country faithfully until her honorable discharge and earned the rank of Specialist 4. She continued to serve her country as a civil service employee for four years following her military service. On September 30, 1978, Donna was united in marriage to Gary Stephen Wann in Waynesville, Missouri. They shared over thirty-seven years of marriage together and were blessed with two children: Stephanie and Chris. Donna had the privilege of staying at home during most of her working years and raising her family. She treasured those times she was able to be there for her children. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and most importantly loved spending time with her grandchildren. Donna made an important decision in her life in her early years and had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Waynesville and she loved going to church and helping out any way that she could. Donna went home to be with her Lord Monday, September 19, 2016 in her home surrounded by her family after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. She had attained the age of sixty-five. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Donna leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Gary Wann of the home; her mother: Lexie Frederick of Strongstown, PA; two children: Stephanie Benton of Las Vegas, NV and Chris Wann (Tina) of Nixa, MO; three grandchildren: Kaylie, Elijah and Rylee; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her father: Donald Frederick; maternal grandparents: August and Gladys Klash; and paternal grandparents: Elmer and Agnes Frederick. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2016 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Softly and Tenderly”. Serving as escorts were Dale Sleppy, Phil Wann, Ed Wann, Ian Wann and Marty Trevarrow. Burial with military honors followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville. Military honors were provided by the Missouri Honors Team. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Donna Wann to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.
