Jinger Lee Stephens

Jinger Lee Stephens, daughter of Jeffry Stephens Sr. and Lory Ann (Knight) Linné, was born July 24, 1981 in Bryan, Texas. In 1991, she moved with her family to The Woodlands, Texas and then Austin, Texas. She and her brother Jeffry spent every summer with their mother in California and they always looked forward to the adventures she planned for them each summer. In her late teens, Jinger moved to Redwood City, California with her mother and then began her grand adventure traveling on her own. Her favorite destination was Big Sur, California. She mined for gem stones and made jewelry from them and sold them at festivals and other events. When she got ready to come home, she first went to her mother in Reno, Nevada and ultimately settled with her father in Richland, Missouri. Jinger was a creative and passionate artist. She could draw and paint, and did so on any blank surface she could find. If she ever lived or stayed with you, you have found a little drawing somewhere with the words “I love you” on it. Jinger began working in the residential construction business as a painter. She was very good at her business and was well liked by all those that she worked with. Jinger had a naturally born love of music. She loved to play her guitar and sing, especially to Jasmine Lee. She loved to play music with her dad and brothers and anyone she came across with a guitar. She was very talented and creative and knew how to make a comfortable home for her and her daughter, Jasmine, who was her pride and joy. She always looked for ways to have teachable moments with Jasmine. If you went to her home, you could see that Jinger took the time to draw on the sidewalk with Jasmine and would even use letter magnets on her front door to teach Jasmine. She was very invested in her daughter’s growth in knowledge and showing her how to be creative. Jinger was a free spirit….footloose and fancy free. She was never judgmental in regards to anyone and accepted everyone. She was truly a friend to everyone and could light up a room once she entered. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. Jinger passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 in University of Missouri Hospital of Columbia, Missouri having attained the age of 35 years. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Jinger leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter: Jasmine Lee Stephens of Richland, MO, her father, Jeffry Wayne Stephens, Sr. (step-mother, Karen Lee) of Richland, MO; her mother, Lory Linné (step-father, James) of Reno, NV; two step-mothers: Kimberly Allen of College Station, TX and Lisa Stephens of Bryan, TX; two brothers: Jeffry Wayne Stephens II of Richland, MO and Jesse Allen Stephens of College Station, TX; two sisters: Amanda Gail Stephens and Candace Leigh Stephens both of Bryan, TX; grandmother, Sandra Knight of Kern River, CA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2017 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Christopher Hendrix officiating and Jinger’s uncle, Joe Stephens read the eulogy. Jinger’s mother, Lory Linné and father, Jeff Stephens, Sr. along with her step-mother’s Kimberly Allen and Lisa Stephens and sisters, Amanda and Candace Stephens all shared special thoughts and memories of Jinger; as did several of her friends. Favorite recorded music “In Loving Memory” – Alter Bridge, “Come As You Are” – David Crowder, “Sister” – The Nixons and “Spirit in the Sky” – Norman Greenbaum were all played.
