Linda Carroll

Linda Lou Carroll was born and raised in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on October 24, 1961 to Dolores and Claire Rotherham of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Linda graduated Scottsbluff Senior High in 1980 and joined the Army in 1981 with an honorable discharge in 1984. She continued her military career in the United States Army Reserve from November 1984 – November 1988 and the Army National Guard November 1988 – November 1989. Linda was married on April 1, 1998 to Hershel Elmer Carroll in Waynesville, Missouri. Upon the union of the couple in 1984, a daughter was born, Dawnee Lynn Wade (Carroll). Linda began her career at Fort Leonard Wood military installation in 1985, holding down many positions to include: Supervisory Human Resources Specialist, Contact Representative, Military Personnel Technician. She continued her employment till time of death. She received many awards and achievements during her employment to include Special Act or Service Award, Alpha Sigma Lambda, Certificate of Achievement, Customer Service Awards, Performance Awards, Linda had furthered her education to earn bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Computer Information Science. Linda had one daughter, Dawnee Lynn Wade (Carroll) and Travis of Big Piney, MO. Step sons Troy Rice of Warrenton, Oregon; Terry Carroll of Waynesville, Missouri; step daughters Tawnya Priest of Lebanon, Maine, and Tanya Buese of Rolla, Missouri. Siblings include Shirley and Ron Keller of Scottsbluff, NE, Cindy and Don Rodgers of Sierra Vista, AZ, David and Peggy Rotherham of Scottsbluff, NE, Clarence and Lynda Rotherham of Scottsbluff, NE, Tom Rotherham of Gering, NE, Harold Rotherham of Big Piney, MO, Danny Rotherham of Scottsbluff, NE, and sister in law Mary Rotherham of Scottsbluff, NE. Also a very special friend Mike Pendleton. Linda had one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Marie Dee Wade of Big Piney, MO and one very special great nephew AKA grandson Joshua Wyatt Allen Rotherham of Big Piney, MO. Linda also had many nieces and nephews. Family and friends were a very important part of Linda’s life, she was willing to do anything for anyone in the blink of an eye. Linda’s Honda Goldwing was also a very important part of her life, as she loved to hit the open road on the motorcycle and ride for hours. Linda had a heart of Gold! She is preceded in death by her husband Hershel E. Carroll, mother Dolores C. Rotherham, father Claire F. Rotherham, brother Jerome Lee Rotherham, and great nephew baby Emmett Allen Merklin. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with John Morgan officiating. The songs “I’ll See You Again” by Westlife, “Ride Like the Wind” by Christopher Cross and “Chiseled in Stone” by Vern Gosdin were played. Serving as honorary escorts were Doran Pendleton, Jessie French and Travis Wade. Inurnment followed in the Big Piney Cemetery of Pulaski County, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Linda Carroll and may be left at the funeral home.
