Lois Ann McBreairty

Lois Ann McBreairty, daughter of the late Chester and Mildred (Schultz) Robbins was born April 15, 1945, in Correctionville, Iowa, where she grew up and attended school. She furthered her education at Burlington County College, in Pemberton, New Jersey and then worked in Civil Service for the United States Air Force for 22 years at McGuire Air Force Base, NJ. After her husband Rod retired from the United States Army, they moved back to New Jersey where he worked in Civil Service. Rod was transferred from Fort Dix, NJ to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, which brought the family here to Richland, MO 27 years ago. Lois was always busy…doing something, making something, or cooking something in the kitchen (especially with the grandchildren). Lois loved being active in the community and at various times, she was a member of: The Sweet Adeline’s, The Red Hatters, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Master Quilter and member of the Quilt Guild, of Richland and Waynesville, MO. Frequently, she made quilts that were donated to numerous organizations for many causes. She also loved traveling with her husband all over the world. Lois had accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, following in baptism at an early age. She was a very active and longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Richland, MO. She served as church clerk, sang in the church choir, and loved being in the bell choir as well. Her love for the Lord was deep and obvious all the way to the end. She viewed her recent health issues as a “win-win situation”. “If I get better, it’s a win…if I go home to be with the Lord, it’s a win”. She even had a “going away party” the weekend before her death, to celebrate with friends, her “going home”. The Lord called Lois home in the early morning hours on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 with her beloved family at her side, having attained the age of 73. She will be immensely missed, but never forgotten by all those that knew and loved her. Lois is survived by her husband, Roderick McBreairty, 3 daughters: Susan Thomas (William) of Wylie, TX, Melina Lucyk (John) of Pennsauken, NJ, and Sandra Cummings (Jeff) of Texarkana, TX; 8 Grandchildren: Mark Stockfisch (Tammi), Steven Watson (Brittany), Amanda Stewart-Hause (Kyle), Lauren Stewart, Brittany Hestilow (Dale), Christina, Jeffery, and Rebekah Cummings; 4 Great Grandchildren: Addison, Cameron, Shawnna, and Joannie; her brother: Ivan Paul Robbins (Joyce) of Cheboygan, MI; her sister: Hazel Duntley (Milton) of Arkdale, WI; 4 Nieces, 3 Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her brother: Harry Robbins and his wife, Madeline. A celebration of life service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Bob Lilly officiating. Jeff Cummings shared cherished memories about his mother-in-law, Lois and read a touching eulogy. Josh Chism sang, “I Can Only Imagine” and “Serenaded by Angels.” Charla Baker sang, “Build My Mansion.” Pianist, Wilma Oursbourn provided prelude and postlude favorite music selections. Serving as escorts were John Lucyk, James Cole, Mark Stockfisch, Steven Watson, William Thomas, Jeff Cummings and Tyler Helms. A committal service was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 1, 2018 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Lois Ann McBreairty and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
