Terry Allen Shultz

Terry Allen Shultz, 70, of Laquey, Missouri, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, local business owner, and proud cattle farmer, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, at his home Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Sonya “Pepper” Shultz; his two children, John Caleb Shultz (Jessie) of St. Charles, Missouri, and Cassandra “Cassie” Bolin (Chad) of Laquey, Missouri; and his cherished grandchildren, Nora and Henry. He is also survived by three brothers, Gary Shultz (Lucie) of Osage Beach, Missouri, Timothy “Tim” Shultz (Lisa) of Springfield, Missouri, and John David Shultz of Springfield, Missouri; his sister-in-law, Sandra Claxton of Laquey, Missouri; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Terry was the second of four sons, raised in a life that blended hard work on the farm with the family’s Texaco business. He remained true to those roots his entire life. While he took pride in his work in town, his heart always belonged to the farm. Terry lived big. He filled rooms with laughter and carried a smile that showed up early and stayed late. He found joy in the simple, sacred details of life: the bawl of a newborn calf, the ripple of water over a shoal, the creak of leather in an early morning roundup, and the clean lines of a freshly cut hayfield. He was a man who showed up for people. Terry helped countless travelers and neighbors along the way—fixing a tire, sharing a meal, offering a place to rest, or simply giving someone a moment of kindness when they needed it most. He had a gift for reading people and a willingness to act on what he saw. More than anything, Terry loved being with people. Whether it was lifelong friends, family, or someone he had just met, he believed life was meant to be shared. Any excuse for a gathering was a good one in his book. Terry’s life is a reminder to all of us: tomorrow is never promised, so live fully today—with a big heart and an even bigger smile. In the days following his passing, it has become clear just how many lives Terry touched by living a “regular” life. The outpouring of love is a testament to the way he lived—generously, joyfully, and always with others in mind. He would have wanted to greet each of you, shake your hand, and thank you personally. May we all go forward and strive to live an extraordinary “regular” life as Terry taught us how.
