Travis Lee Gan

Travis Lee Gan departed this life the afternoon of Tuesday, September 7, 2010, as the result of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 133, north of Richland, Missouri, at the age of 17 years, 4 months and 21 days. Travis was born April 16, 1993, at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri. He was one of two sons born to the union of Terry Lynn and Debra Ann (Gardner) Gan. Travis attended school in Laquey and Richland, where he was currently in his junior year at Richland High School. Travis was a member of the Jr. Honor Society, the Academic Team and Mu Alpha Theta. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and especially hunting with his dad. Travis was a member of the Missouri Conservation Heritage, and was certified in boating safety education. He liked listening to music, playing World of Warcraft on his computer, and spending time with his friends. Travis was dearly loved, and will be very sadly missed by his parents: Terry and Debra Gan, and brother: Adam Gan, all of Richland; grandparents: Lloyd and Katherine Gan of Richland, Jerry Gardner of St. Robert and Ruth Douglass of Holts Summit; great grandmothers: Nancy Gan of Waynesville and Della Howlett of Richland; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Rosie Gardner; great grandfathers: Willard Gan and Rollins Howlett and uncles: Larry Lloyd Gan and Steven Michael Gardner. Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, at Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastors Christopher Hendrix, Sr., and Russell Johnson officiating. Pastor Chris read a letter from Adam Lathrop, and one from the junior class. He also read the poem, “When Tomorrow Starts Without Me.” Pastor Russell read a poem and offered words of encouragement to the family. “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me, and “I Will Remember You” by Sarah McLachlan were played. Serving as escorts were Cody and Levi Durreman, Jacob Shelton, Adam Lathrop, Gary Rider, James Ely, William Posten, Alex Howlett and Cody Bailey. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery. Services were under direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions were in memory of Travis Gan.
