SSG (Ret) William "Bill" Francis Mohs Jr.

William “Bill” Francis Mohs, Jr., son of William Francis Mohs and Patricia (Ahrens) Mohs, was born April 18, 1964, in Germantown, Pennsylvania. Bill, as he was known by his family and friends, entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully until his retirement. He had attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and earned several awards and commendations which included: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good conduct Medal (5th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Star (BSS), Southwest Asia Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 2, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (K), Master Parachutist Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver-W Bar, Bronze German Armed Forces Parachutist Badge, Honduran Military Airborne Badge, Jordanian Parachutist Badge, Royal Thai Army Parachutist Badge and Red Silk Aiguillette. On December 8, 1995, Bill was united in marriage to Kathy Marie Nadeau in Fayetteville, North Carolina. They shared over 30 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories. After retiring from the military, Bill was able to do more of the things that he enjoyed. Bill and Kathy recently moved to the Plato, Missouri area where they enjoyed the great outdoors. Bill passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, in the Lake Regional Hospital of Osage Beach, Missouri having attained the age of 61 years. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Kathy Mohs of the home; one brother: Edward “Ed” Mohs of the State of Pennsylvania; two sisters: Patricia Crossan (Jim) and Jennifer Baughman, all of the State of Pennsylvania; mother-in-law: Dorothy Nadeau of Higginsville, MO; two sisters-in-law: Dee Rose (Don) of Plato, MO and Linda Busch (Wendell) of Higginsville, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Even though he is gone from our sight, Bill’s commitment to his country and family will live on in our hearts forever. Graveside services with military honors were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2026 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, MO. Military honors were provided by the United States Army of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Services and arrangements are under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bill Mohs to the Roby Rural Fire Department and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
