SSG (Ret) Alfred N. Bio

July 25, 1954 - March 8, 2017

SSG (Ret) Alfred N. Bio, son of the late Alejandro B. and Rosa Megofna (Nauta) Bio, was born July 25, 1954 in Agat, Guam where he grew up and attended school. Fred entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully until his retirement. He had attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and received many awards and commendations. At the time of his retirement, Fred was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood and decided to remain in the area after retiring. One of Fred’s duty stations was in Korea and while there he met Yong Sun Lee. They were united in marriage on August 23, 1982 in Seoul and they were blessed with four children: Diana Rose, Donna, Dominic and Destiny. After his retirement from the military, Fred was able to do more of the things that he enjoyed. He loved being outdoors and you could find him either fishing or hunting. Most importantly, he loved his family deeply and treasured the moments that they could spend together. Fred passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri having attained the age of 62 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. Fred leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Yong Sun Bio of the home; four children, Diana Rose Bio of Springfield, MO, Donna Woo (Danny) of Los Angeles, CA, Dominic Bio (Lauren) of Pikeville, NC and Destiny Bio (Jesse) of Cassville, MO; four grandchildren, Aiden, Addison, Dream, and Seth; four sisters, Lolita Bustillo, Patsy Bio, and Marita Barce, all of Guam, and Vera Ruffaner of the State of Arkansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Bio. Graveside services with military honors were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2017 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri with a United States Army Chaplain officiating. Serving as escorts were the United States Army. Military honors were provided by the United States Army of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
