Anna Karr Cardwell

Anna (Karr) Cardwell, daughter of the late Johan and Agnes (Zinkiernell) Karr, was born May 29, 1932 in Steyr, Austria where she grew up and attended school. On October 4, 1966, Anna was united in marriage to Ronald Cardwell, a United States soldier. Anna came to the United States for the very first time in 1966 and they were stationed at Fort Leonard Wood. Anna began working at the Officer’s Club on Fort Leonard Wood in 1966 and continued to work there until 1973. After leaving the club, Anna owned and operated the Bavarian Deli from 1985 until 1990. She loved visiting with the customers that came in. In her spare time, Anna enjoyed traveling with friends. She was a very outgoing person and loved to entertain her friends. Anna passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center of Rolla, Missouri having attained the age of 82 years. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Anna is survived by several brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, dear friend: Erna Brady of Dixon, MO; and a host of friends. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2015 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rev. Christopher Hendrix officiating. The songs “What A Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Face to Face” were played.
