Betty Sue Lewis

August 15, 1959 - February 4, 2018

Betty Sue Lewis, daughter of Less Harrington and Mary P. Caldwell, was born August 15, 1959 in Topeka, Kansas. As a young girl, Betty grew up in California, Missouri and in 1972, she and her family moved to the Waynesville area where she attended high school. Betty was a hard worker as a waitress. She loved being a waitress no matter where she was employed because she loved serving her customers. She worked for a time at Kays Restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks and the Star Restaurant in St. Robert, but most knew her as a long time employee at the Sun Shine Café in St. Robert. Betty’s heart was brighter than the sun and she loved being with people. She enjoyed relaxing at home and being with her children and other family members. Betty passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, in Mercy Hospital of Springfield, Missouri having attained the age of 58 years, 5 months and 20 days. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Mary Caldwell of Laquey, MO; her father, Less Harrington of Vinita, OK; her significant other Jimmy Foreman of Laquey, MO; a son, Johnny Lee Lewis of Laquey, MO and a daughter, Nakia Lynn Lewis of Laquey, MO; her granddaughter, Kellie Fullington of St. Robert, MO, a sister, Patricia Lane of Laquey, MO; a half-sister, Renee Harrington of California, MO; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by three brothers: Ronnie, Ricky and Leslie Harrington; and her stepfather: Thompson Caldwell. Services were held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. The songs “Amazing Grace”, “See You Again” and “The Tin Man” were played. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Betty Lewis and may be left at the funeral home.
