Burgett "Bud" Huston Watts

February 29, 1928 - December 22, 2016

Burgett “Bud” Huston Watts, son of the late Oscar F. and Fannie Zoe (Beers) Watts, was born February 29, 1928 in Courtois, Missouri. Bud entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully from 1950 - 1952 until his honorable discharge. He had attained the rank of Private 2. Bud worked as a construction worker and for nine years drove a dump truck for the City of St. Robert after moving to the Waynesville / St. Robert area. On June 20, 1995, Bud was united in marriage to Nancy Mae Miller in Gunnison, Colorado. They shared over 21 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories. In his spare time, Bud enjoyed being outdoors while hunting and also loved to travel. When Bud’s health permitted, he attended the First Christian Church of Waynesville. Bud passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the Rock Spring Residential Care Center of Cuba, Missouri having attained the age of 88 years, 9 months and 22 days. Bud leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife: Nancy Watts of the home; daughter: Roxanne Spires; granddaughter: Coleen Brewer; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by one brother: Haskel Watts. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. December 28, 2016 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rev. Christopher Hendrix officiating. The song “Amazing Grace” was played and serving as escorts were family and friends. Burial with military honors followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville. Military honors were provided by the Missouri Honors Team. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bud Watts and may be left at the funeral home.
