Claudia (Lorenz) Hawley

October 24, 1967 - December 7, 2021

Claudia (Lorenz) Hawley, daughter of Rudi Lorenz and Niki (Raspoptsi) Lorenz, was born October 24, 1967 in Ostrov, Czech Republic. As a young girl, Claudia grew up in Mainz, Germany where she graduated from Mainz University with her lifelong best friends Sydney and Annette. She later furthered her education and achieved her dream of becoming registered nurse. While in Germany, Claudia met a young US Army soldier by the name of John Robert Hawley. They began dating and were united in marriage on February 18, 1988 in Nykobing, Denmark. They shared over 33 years of marriage together and were blessed with three children: Arden, Tyler, and Max. Claudia achieved her international registered nursing license and after moving to the United States, she became licensed in several states due to her being married to a military man. They moved over fifteen times during her husband’s thirty-year career. Even though she was a hardworking nurse and enjoyed her occupation, her children were always her number one priority. She was always looking for ways to make them feel special and loved. In her spare time, Claudia enjoyed cooking, especially what her family called “Mommy food” and was very good at creating her own specialties. She also loved to shop and had her own sense of style. She liked Michael Kors, Coach, and Gucci brands just to name a few. Claudia liked to laugh because her own sense of humor and comedy was quite unique. She loved seeing people enjoying life and laughing. Claudia passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 and will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Claudia leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: CSM (Ret) John R. Hawley; three children: Arden Hawley of Grand Rapids, MI, Tyler Hawley of Dixon, MO, and Max Hawley of St. Robert, MO; her parents: Rudi and Niki Lorenz of Mainz, Germany; one brother: Rudi Fiala (Eva) of Blatna, Czech Republic; one sister: Monika Bell (Stefan Rasch) of Mainz, Germany; several nieces and nephews including Nica “Nickel Pickle”, and many other relatives and friends.
