Danny Lee Ogle

May 15, 1950 - July 15, 1997

Danny Lee Ogle, of Waynesville, son of Kenneth Leroy and Flora Lorraine (Bookout) Ogle, was born May 15, 1950 in Lebanon, Missouri. His family later moved to Pulaski County where he attended school and was a 1968 graduate of Waynesville High School. On July 18, 1970 at the First Freewill Baptist Church of Waynesville, Danny was united in marriage with Judith Lynn Tucker. Danny and Judy shared nearly 27 years of marriage and two sons and one daughter together. From 1970 to 1972, Danny served in the U.S. Army having attained the rank of Specialist. Danny worked for over 25 years as a welder at the Lowe Boat factory, now known as O.M.C. Aluminum Boats in Lebanon. He loved the peace and quiet of nature, and enjoyed any outdoor activity, such as cutting wood and fishing and hunting. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone and was a wonderful family man. Danny departed this life the afternoon of July 15, 1997 as the result of injuries sustained in a pick-up truck accident on I-44 near Hazelgreen, Missouri. He was 47 years of age. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Judy of the home; two sons, Timothy and Derek Ogle and one daughter, Erica Ogle all of the home; his sister, Arlene Thornhill of Lebanon and sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Michael Mosier of Waynesville; his brother, Calvin Ogle of Omaha, Nebraska, brother and sister-in-law, Gale and Felisha Ogle of Richland and brother, Wayne Ogle of Laquey; his mother-in-law, Effie Tucker of Waynesville; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Lee York; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Melzona and Jr. Wilson, Wanda and Bert Adkins and Lana and Jerry Burgener; two sisters-in-law, Ima Logan and Vada Williams; 11 nieces, Kelly Thornhill, Billie Gene Logan, Tammy Morrow, Brenda Wood, Sherry Sundell, Diane Cunningham, Mona Vaughn, Teresa Woodby, Kathy Burgener, Cyrena Fickas and Danielle Leigh; 18 nephews, Jerry Thornhill, Jeremy and Christopher Ogle, Jimmy Stewart, "Charlie Mosier", Allen, Richard and Larry Woodby, Calvin and Terry York, Billy and Leonard Irvin, Michael and Davis Gene Wilson, Raymond, Wayne and Roy Lee Adkins and Jerry Lee Burgerner, Jr; several cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lorraine Ogle; one sister, Cheri Lynn Ogle; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Ruth Ogle; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Mable Bookout; his father-in-law, Bryan Tucker; one brother-in-law, Bill Logan; one sister-in-law, Juanita Pruitt; one aunt, Vivian Shoemaker and one uncle, Johnny Bookout. Graveside services were held at 2:30 pm Friday, July 17, at the Michael and Crystal Ogle-Mosier farm near Waynesville, with Reverands Larry Atkins and Larry Suggs officiating. Guitarist, Rev. Atkins and Violinist, Rev. Suggs played "Amazing Grace" and Rev. Atkins then played the guitar and sang, "Peace in the Valley." Rev. Atkins also accompanied David Pitts as he sang, "How Great Thou Art." Serving as escorts were Michah Atkins, Wayne Ogle, Roy Spirk, Allan Wood, Allan Woodby, Calvin York and Terry York. Service were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel. On November 24, 2015, Danny's remains were moved to the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri.
