David Glen Shelton

David Glen Shelton, son of Glen Otis and Shirley Ann (Morrow) Shelton, was born October 31, 1953 in Crocker, Missouri. David passed away the morning of Monday, May 5, 2014, near Richland, Missouri doing what he loved, having attained the age of 60. As a young boy, David grew up in the Richland area and graduated from Richland High School. When David was around the age of eleven, using only a claw hammer, he shod his first horse after school, one foot a night until he completed his task. David believed in working hard however, his love for horses made his job easy, as he found great joy and pride in his profession. David rode race horses approximately two years for Norm and Bob Austin and was also member of American Quarter Horse Association. On May 29, 2001, David married Charlene Renee Berncich in Lebanon, Missouri. They shared sixteen years together prior to his passing, and eight children that filled their lives with love and laughter. David had a happy go lucky personality and made friends easily. He was an honest, loving, caring man and would help anyone who asked. David loved children and they loved him, especially his grandchildren. David treasured times spent with his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, “Char” of the home, his mother: Shirley Shelton of Richland, MO; his children: Sandy Ray (Chance) of Austin, TX, son-in-law: Randy Byrom of Highlandville, MO, Shelly Sherrer (David) of Richland, MO, Sara Wilbers (Jon) of Jefferson City, MO, Stacy Shelton of Pekin, IL, T.J. Thomas of Richland, MO, Jessica Thomas of Stoutland, MO and Matt Thomas (Kate) of NJ; 12 grandchildren: Shawn Byrom, Sadie Byrom, Owen Sherrer, Evan Sherrer, Cory Minor, Annie Minor, Layne Wilbers, Chase Wilbers, Mason Parchman, Megan Parchman, Samantha Mencin and Bear Thomas; two brothers: Allen Shelton of Lebanon, MO and Paul Shelton (Vicky) of Richland, MO; two sisters: Jackie Shelton of Stoutland, MO and Teresa Zeigenbein of Richland, MO; thirteen nieces and nephews: Amber Hendrix, Joseph Shelton, Justin Clark, Chastity Ellis, Kent Zeigenbein, Macie Ragland, Brandon Wilson, Dalton Berncich, Tanner Berncich, Carlie Berncich, Eddie Berncich, Dylan Burns and Philip Payne; his mother-in-law: Lynetta Berncich of Stoutland, MO; two brother-in-laws: Torey Berncich (Suzanne) of CA and Mike Berncich of WI; one sister-in-law: Terry Beauchamp (Brian) of Lebanon, MO; numerous other relatives and many friends. David was preceded in death by his father, Glen Shelton, one daughter, Sharon Byrom, and his father-in-law: Jerry Berncich. David will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him; however he will remain in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 in the upper lot at the home of Char and David Shelton, 30745 Hwy FF, Richland, MO.
