Gladys A. Schaberger was born July 11, 1938 in Puerto Rico where she spent most of her childhood. At the age of 20, Gladys married a United States soldier by the name of Albert Schaberger. Due to Albert being in the military, Gladys came to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in the early 1960’s and stayed in the community. She loved her family tremendously and was able to stay at home and care for them. She loved cooking for her family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed being outdoors while fishing and working in her flower beds. She loved birds, especially Cardinals. Gladys passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018, in her home in Waynesville having attained the age of eighty years. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her. Gladys leaves to cherish her memory, her six daughters, Teresa Carter (Wayne) of St. Louis, MO, Yolanda McKenney (William) of McKinney, TX, Maria Aguilera (John) of Las Vegas, NV, Elizabeth Woody of Waynesville, MO, Margie Smith (Jeff) of Waynesville, MO, and Diana Stoffregen (Michael) of Springfield, MO; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial Contributions in memory of Gladys Schaberger may be left at the funeral home.
