Goldie "Bernice" Huey Beck

February 13, 1942 - March 19, 2016

Goldie Bernice Huey Beck, daughter of the late James William and Dessie Leona (Vogt) Rickerson, was born February 13, 1942 in Waynesville, Missouri, where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Waynesville High School. “Bernice” as she was known by, was baptized at the age of twelve. Bernice united in marriage to George Virgil Huey Sr., in Pulaski County, Missouri, and to this union six sons were born, David Eugene, Jerry Lee, George “Ellery”, Leonard, Jeffery and George Jr. Bernice and George shared many wonderful years together before his passing on May 23, 2001. Bernice took great delight and pride in raising her family providing them with a warm and loving home, she was a devoted mother. Bernice found love once again marrying Aaron Lloyd Beck on August 2, 2004 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The family grew bigger with the addition of Aaron’s three children, Tony, Hannah and Robin. Bernice led a very busy life and didn’t let any grass grow under her feet long. She was a member of a local car club. She greatly enjoyed talking on the CB, playing Bingo and going to Casinos. She also liked to fish, work in her yard, and tend to her flower beds. She was an avid crafter and would often sell the things she’d made. However, most importantly, she treasured those times spent with her family and friends. Bernice battled health issues for several years however, on the evening of Saturday, March 19, 2016, her battle ended as Bernice passed away surrounded by her loving husband, Aaron and her family in her home, having attained the age of 74 years. In her life time, she brought a lot of love and laughter to many and will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her and sadly leaves behind her husband, Aaron Beck of the home; three sons: Leonard Huey of St. Robert, MO, Jeffery Huey of Buckhorn, MO and George Huey Jr., of Swedeborg, MO; one sister: Rebecca “Becky” Clark of Richland, MO; one step-son: Tony Beck of Amarillo, TX; two step-daughters: Hannah Yarborough and Robin Sullivan both of Amarillo, TX; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, and her first husband, George Huey Sr., Goldie was preceded in death by her three sons: David Huey, Jerry Lee Huey and Ellery Huey; and one brother: Leroy Rickerson. A celebration of life service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2016 in the Swedeborg Christian Church, Swedeborg, Missouri with Pastor Doug Jacobson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bernice Huey Beck to the Swedeborg Christian Church and may be left at the church or at the Memorial Chapel of Richland funeral home.
