Harold Dean McKinnon

Harold Dean McKinnon, son of the late Melvin Andrew and Vivian Marie (Helms) McKinnon, was born January 10, 1944 in Waynesville, Missouri. He spent his entire childhood in Pulaski County where he attended school. As a young man, Harold entered the United States Army and served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge. While in the Army, he served two tours in Vietnam and earned several awards and commendations. Harold worked for several businesses. He was employed with a tree trimming business, a moving business and recently was employed with a bulk oil company in Richland. In his spare time, Harold enjoyed being outdoors while deer hunting and fishing. Harold passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in his home in Richland, Missouri at the age of 70 years. Harold leaves to cherish his memory his son, Harold David McKinnon and his wife, Amber, of New Port Richey, FL; three grandchildren; his brother, Gene McKinnon of Jefferson City, MO; his sister-in-law, Rosemary McKinnon of Jefferson City; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by one brother, Otis “Bud” McKinnon. A graveside service with Military Honors provided by the Missouri Honors Team was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
