Jerry Martin Posten

April 25, 2020

Jerry Martin Posten, beloved son of Clyde Martin Posten and Mildred Bell (Johnson) Posten, was born September 24, 1941 in Hazelgreen, Missouri. Jerry attended school at Independence and Richland. Jerry accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church. Jerry enjoyed the comforts of home and his family. He liked chocolate milk shakes, watching western movies, shopping, going out to eat, fishing, flowers, chickens, and especially roosters. Jerry always wore a wristwatch and maintained a regular schedule. Jerry had a great memory and a friendly disposition. On Saturday, April 25, 2020, Jerry left all the cares of this life behind to be in the presence of His Lord having attained the age of 78 years. Jerry leaves behind to always cherish his memory, three sisters: Norma L. Rowden of Lebanon, MO, Sue York (Richard) of Waynesville, MO, and Kay Adamson (Larry) of Springfield, MO; one brother: Earl Posten (Pat) of Richland, MO; his sister-in-law: Mary Posten of Richland, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his two brothers, Freddie Dale “Fred” and Larry Gene Posten. Revelation 21:4 assures us this...And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Jerry has left our sight for now and is experiencing joy unimaginable however, the wonderful memories he made while here will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery, Crocker, Missouri with Gregory Posten officiating. Music included “Farther Along” and “Amazing Grace.” Family and friends served as escorts. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
