MSG (Ret) John Walter Cowart, 72, of Richland, MO, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022 in the Harry S Truman VA Medical Center of Columbia, MO. Celebration of Life Services with military honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 in the funeral home. Mr. Cowart is survived by his wife: Drucella Cowart of the home; four children: Michelle Dawn Thayer of Richland, MO, Mary Suzanne Slaughter (Robert) of Lebanon, MO, Rachel Lee (David) of Richland, MO, and Shelbee Cowart-Hernandez of Richland, MO; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; four siblings: Kathy Cowart of Tecumseh, MO, Marilyn White of Lake Zurich, IL, Diana Woodward of Independence, MO, and Jeff Cowart of Gainesville, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of MSG (Ret) John Cowart and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
