SPC Joshua Daniel Carter

SPC Joshua Daniel Carter, son of Douglas and Tracy Carter, was born December 30, 1987 in Enid, Oklahoma where he grew up and graduated from high school. SPC Carter entered the United States Army and served his country and was deployed two times. In 2009, he was transferred to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he was currently serving. He had attained the rank of Specialist. On July 20, 2011, SPC Carter was united in marriage to Amber Lee Arnold in Rolla, Missouri. They shared six years together and were raising four children: Dylon, Matthew, Kaity and Charlie. In his spare time, SPC Carter enjoyed being outdoors; whether it was riding his motorcycle, having BBQs or just being with his friends. He also liked to work with wood and construction. SPC Carter passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 in the University of Missouri Hospital of Columbia, MO due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident having attained the age of twenty-eight years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. SPC Carter is survived by his wife: Amber Carter of Waynesville, MO; four children: Dylon, Matthew, Kaity and Charlie, all of the home; his mother: Tracy Thompson of Carmen, OK; one brother: Austin Carter (Shyan) of Carmen, OK; one sister: Kassidy Carter of Carmen, OK; two nieces: Alice and Emily Carter; grandmother Carol; mother-in-law: Tiria Ousley of Waynesville, MO; father-in-law: Thomas Arnold of Palmyra, PA; brother-in-law: Nicholus Ousley of Waynesville, MO; two sisters-in-law: Ashley Swyers and Ailyn Arnold; other relatives and friends. SPC Carter was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his father and step-father. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of SPC Carter and may be left at the funeral home.
