Katherine Sue (Howlett) Gan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Katherine Sue Gan, daughter of the late Rollins Robert and Della Martha (Black) Howlett was born in Waynesville, Missouri, on September 15, 1940, and went home to God on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 15, 2022, having attained the age of eighty-one. Katherine grew up and lived all of her life around Richland, attending elementary school and Richland High School. She always appreciated the closeness of the small community and was well respected within the community and the many friendships she had were lifelong. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and followed in baptism. Katherine married her beloved, Lloyd Franklin Gan on March 16, 1957, in Richland, Missouri. Together, hand in hand, they began their walk-through life together all while lovingly raising their children, Cherie, Terry, & Carrie. God blessed Lloyd and Katherine with sixty -five years of love, laughter and even the hardships that can come in this life. During Katherine’s life she was not only a wonderful wife, and mother, always enjoyed taking care of her home and family, they were her pride and joy. She was never happier than when she was spending time with them. She also worked outside the home as a phone operator in the Waynesville area before going to work at the H.D. Lee plant in Richland for several years, until her health failed. Katherine enjoyed many of life’s pleasures. She liked going to auctions to find just the right treasure. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, and stamps, caring for her exotic birds, farm animals, ducks, feeding the hummingbirds, taking trips to the Bahamas and to Graceland as Katherine was Elvis’s greatest fan, she also loved riding horses. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rollins and Della, infant son, Larry Lloyd Gan, one grandson, Travis Gan, and brother, Morris Howlett. Katherine leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Lloyd Gan of the home; her three children: Cherie Durreman (Joseph) of Richland, MO, Terry Gan (Debra) of Richland, MO, and Carrie Wilson (Craig) of Waynesville, MO, three grandchildren: Levi Durreman (Charolette) of Crocker, MO, Cody Durreman (Michelle) of Richland, MO, Adam Gan (Jessi) of Richland, MO; one great grandson: Izan Durreman; two brothers: Robert Howlett (Mary Louise) of Richland, MO and Max Howlett (Vonnie) of Bolivar, MO; one sister-in-law: Linda Howlett of Richland, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Katherine has left her earthly home to live in the house of the Lord forever. We will miss her dearly here but can take comfort in knowing that Katherine is safely in God’s care and a great reunion began at Heaven’s gate. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2022 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. Songs, “Precious Lord Take my Hand” and “Amazing Grace” by Elvis Presley, and “Dancing in the Sky” by Dani & Lizzie were played. Serving as escorts were Terry Gan, Adam Gan. Levi Durreman, Cody Durreman, Joes Durreman and Craig Wilson. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
