Kathy Sue "Indy" Sveum

July 3, 1959 - March 4, 2020

Kathy Sue “Indy” Sveum, daughter of Dale Eugene and Patricia Ann (Weathers) Shireman, was born July 3, 1959. She attended school in Scottsburg, Indiana and graduated from Scottsburg High School. On March 29, 2006, Indy was united in marriage to Scott Alan Sveum in Waynesville, Missouri. Two families were joined and together Indy and Scott shared six children: Sherry, Christy, Jamie, Travis, Robbie and Jeffrey. Indy served as a server and bartender for sixteen years. She enjoyed visiting with all her customers and some became lifelong friends. In her spare time, Indy enjoyed dancing, shopping and camping. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Indy was a member of the World Outreach for Christ. Indy passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri having attained the age of 60 years. Indy will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Scott A. Sveum of the home; mother: Pat Shireman of Seymour, IN; six children: Sherry Hendricks (Mark) of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Christy Fowler of Dixon, MO, Jamie York (Justin) of Dixon, MO, Travis Sveum of Kansas City, MO, Robbie Sveum of Dixon, MO and Jeffrey Sveum of Dixon, MO; grandchildren: Bryce Fowler (Niki), Angel Fowler (Seath), Kalyn Wright, Kasey Fowler, Trae Woodruff (Alexis), Kamryn Fowler, Heather Kay, Allie Jade, Journey Lewis, Patience Lewis and Jayson Tyler; great grandchildren: Audree Lynn, Southerlin Rain, Everlee Laine, Wilder River, Charlee Jade and a precious one on the way; three brothers: Steve Shireman of New Albany, IN, Rick Shireman of Scottsburg, IN and Marty Shireman (Sherry) of Seymour, IN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Indy was preceded in death by her father: Dale Shireman; and one sister: Gwen Peacock. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2020 in the Dixon City Cemetery of Dixon, Missouri with Peggy Plessinger officiating. Serving as escorts were family and friends. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Indy Sveum and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
