Lula Mae Cole

February 20, 1930 - May 1, 2018

Lula Mae Cole, one of five children born to Jolly T. Williams and Ethel Lucille Dodson Williams, was born February 20, 1930 in Dime Box, Texas. On October 5, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas, she married Birdett C. Cole. They shared two children and nearly 43 years together. In the mid 1960’s, Lula Mae & Birdett moved to Missouri and purchased a home in the Dixon, Pulaski County, area. She and Birdett resided there together until his transition in 2002. Lula enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking and conversations with her loving son Donnie. She is survived by her loving sons: Donnie A. Williams of Los Angeles, CA and Clarence O. Kinney of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren: Heather Michelle Hopson and Clarence Kinney, Jr.; cousin: Alfred Thompson of New York, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to family, friends, Deborah Mitchell of Brighton, Colorado, Charles Geiger of Waynesville and Dear friend, Pauline Sherrell of Waynesville. “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.” - Phillipians 1:3-5 & 11 Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery of Waynesville. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lula Mae Cole and may be left at the funeral home.
