December 1, 1957 - September 13, 2020
Maria Anna Copeland, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Henderson, was born December 1, 1957 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. She passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 in the Mercy Hospital of Springfield, Missouri having attained the age of 62 years. Maria enjoyed working and took great pride in providing for her four children: Krissy, Angelika, Jessica and Jimmy. She worked for many different employers over the years, but her favorite was working for the Waynesville R-VI School District with the Transportation Department. She loved being around people and staying busy. Most recently, she worked for Eagle Stop and made many friends. She touched a lot of hearts and lives with her friendly spirit. In her spare time, Maria loved to go on adventures and traveling. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and she would get tremendous joy from decorating for the season. Most of all she loved her family and especially her grandchildren. According to her family, “her best talent was making amazing children and she belonged to the Best Mom Ever Club”. Maria will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Krissy Egler (Josh) of Waynesville, MO, Angelika Trout (Michael) of Fort Pierce, FL and Jessica Baldwin (William) of Jenks, OK; nine grandchildren: Cortny, Alex, Issabella, Kameron, Dyna, Tavien, Tanner, Grayson, and William; one great grandchild: Arik; one brother: Alf Henderson of Orlando, FL; significant other: John Wesley Cox IV of St. Robert, MO; several other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy. Maria was a strong and courageous woman and is now at peace with Jimmy by her side. Her legacy will live on in our hearts forever. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Pastor DJ DesJardins officiating. The songs “Yesterday Once More” by the Carpenters, “What Hurts the Most” by Rascal Flatts, “The Garden” by Jimmy Scott, “Aloha ‘Oe” by the Peter Moon Band and “Goodbye” by Lionel Richie were played. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Maria Copeland and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
