Marjorie Ann Fletcher

August 24, 1938 - March 29, 2016

Marjorie Ann Fletcher, daughter of Roswell Isaac and Lillian Dell (Curry) Hopkins, was born August 24, 1938, in Bowling Green, Missouri. She departed this life the evening of, Tuesday, March 29, 2016, in the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Columbia, Missouri at the age of seventy seven years. Marjorie is survived by her two daughters, Marla Davis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Lisa Orf of Jefferson City, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Hopkins of Springfield, Illinois; a special nephew, Rick Echelberry and his wife Stacy, of Richland, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Steven Francis Sauerwein, two brothers, Robert and Billy J. Hopkins, three sisters, Virginia Ulrich, Mary Stone and Sue Echelberry. Marjorie grew up in Bowling Green, Missouri, and went to elementary school in a one room school house in Buckner Hollow, before graduating from Bowling Green High School in 1957. Marjorie was married and was blessed by God with three precious children, Steven Francis, Marla and Lisa. Marjorie made a profession of faith as a young woman and was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Missouri. Throughout her life she was a homemaker and also worked as a seamstress. She loved her cats, also enjoyed sewing, reading, bowling, going to Flea Markets and especially walking the woods in search of finding mushrooms. Marjorie touched the lives of many and will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. A memorial gathering of family and friends was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Marjorie Fletcher and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.richlandmemorialchapel.com
