Martha Helen (Gan) Tucker

Martha Helen Tucker passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in her home near Richland, Missouri, having attained the age of 80 years. Martha was born, April 26, 1935 near Bloodland, Missouri to Willard Anderson and Nancy Jane (Exendine) Gan, one of six children. She attended school in Buckhorn, Missouri, and graduated there from the eighth grade, spending her entire life in the Pulaski County area. On August 7, 1953, in Swedeborg, Missouri Martha was wed to a handsome young Marine, Billie Archie Tucker, and to that union was born six children. Along with rearing her family, Martha worked outside the home as a shoe factory worker for eight years, and a machine operator at H.D. Lee for thirty five years. She enjoyed listening to country music, planting flowers, bird watching, raising chickens, and was always on the go shopping trying to find that “good bargain”. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Nancy, her beloved husband, Billie Tucker, on March 20, 2005, her daughter, Mary Ann Nimmo and sister, Wanda Flynn. Martha is survived by her five children: Billie Tucker of Springfield, MO, Cathey Phillips (Phillip) of Oklahoma City, OK, Diana Tucker (Don) of Richland, MO, Clint Tucker (Genevieve) of Richland, MO, and Terrie Posten (Curt) of Richland, MO; along with nine grandchildren: D.J., Bobby, Scottie, Brittnie, Chole, Kayla (Bert), Shawna, Derrick and Taylor; seven great-grandchildren, two sisters: Mary Patton and Vera York both of Waynesville, MO; two brothers: Lloyd Gan (Katheryn) and Chester Gan all of Richland, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Martha will be sadly missed, however, always fondly remembered by her loving family and friends. A memorial service was held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 16, 2015 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Christopher Hendrix, Sr. officiating. Recorded music selections included “Go Rest High on that Mountain” and “Sissy Song” was played. Inurnment will be in the Hazelgreen Cemetery near Richland, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Martha Tucker and can be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
