Martiniano Sagrado Openiano was born July 2, 1931 in Balaloi Cebu, Philippines where he grew up and attended school. Martiniano furthered his education and became a professor at the Philippine Normal University and University of the Philippines for over 40 years before retiring. He also worked as a security officer for 8 years. Martiniano was married to Francisca and they were blessed with six children. They shared 50 years of marriage together and many wonderful memories. In his spare time, Martiniano enjoyed doing cryptogram puzzles, crossword puzzles, playing chess, and the harmonica. He was a great swimmer and served as a Boy Scout troop leader for several years. Martiniano passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in his home having attained the age of 91 years. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his five children, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Martiniano was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son: Ramon; one grandson: Herbert “Sonny Boy”; one brother: Felomino; and one sister: Genobeba. Even though he is gone from our sight, his loving memory will live on in our hearts forever. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022, in the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church of St. Robert, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Martiniano Openiano and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
