Mary Ann Sutton

September 23, 1946 - February 12, 2018

Mary Ann Sutton, daughter of James A. and Martha W. (Ward) Bush, was born September 23, 1946 in Eufaula, Alabama where she grew up and graduated from high school. Mary Ann was married to Roger E. Sutton and they were blessed with two children: Paula Ann and Roger Lee. Mary Ann was a hard worker and was employed as a secretary and a waitress for a few years, but the majority of her working years were spent as a homemaker and raising her children. In her spare time, Mary Ann enjoyed being outdoors while horseback riding and fishing. She also liked to go dancing, enjoyed a good game of bowling and was a diehard Alabama fan (so much so that she kept a journal of the scores of every game). Mary Ann loved all different kinds of animals and was known to care for even wild animals as well. Mary Ann was a monthly contributor to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Mary Ann passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 in the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics of Columbia, Missouri having attained the age of 71 years. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. Mary Ann leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Lee Sutton (Nancy) of Waynesville, MO and Paula Ann Sutton of Eufaula, AL; one grandchild: Kelsey Lee Sutton of Huntington Beach, CA; one sister: Elaine Coleman of Eufaula, AL; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her grandparents: Bart and Lima Beatrice Ward; uncle: James Wise; and great grandmother: Addie Wise. Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in the Deerlick Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri with Mike Freeman officiating. Serving as escorts were family and friends. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary Ann Sutton to ASPCA and may be left at the funeral home.
