Monica Fay (Cappleman) Mullins

Monica Fay (Cappleman) Mullins, daughter of the late Paul Stanley Cappleman and Alpha Ann (Hewitt) Cappleman, was born January 28, 1935 in Rialto, California. As a young girl, Monica grew up in San Bernardino and graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1952. Monica married and was blessed with two children, David and Sherry. They lived for a time in Germany before moving to Bonaparte, Iowa. The family moved then to Libertyville, Iowa where Monica worked for HyVee Grocery in the bakery. She decorated all kinds of cakes (wedding cakes, birthday cakes, etc.) and was known as the only cake designer in Ft. Madison and the surrounding counties. She was employed there for 15 years before retiring due to health. In her spare time, Monica enjoyed doing crafts, knitting and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She especially loved babysitting her grandchildren and looked forward to every time they could spend together. Monica passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 having attained the age of 82 years. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son: David Mullins and wife Deborah of San Bernardino, California; many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Monica was preceded in death by her daughter: Sherry Mullins Foreman; one half-brother: William Schmitz; and one sister: Mona Duke.
