Nadine Duncan, daughter of the late George Wilson, and Della E. (Gibson) Long, was born February 11, 1931 in Crocker, Missouri, where she grew up and attended school, remaining in the area her entire life. On March 23, 1950, Nadine was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clay “Chuck” Emerson Duncan in Pulaski County, Missouri. They shared over 58 years of marriage together before his passing on May 29th 2008 and were blessed with two precious children, Linda and Randy. Nadine took great pride in her family providing them with a warm and loving home. For a brief time Nadine worked outside the home at the Crocker RII School as a Cook and later in the lake area as a housekeeper at a couple different Hotels. In her spare time, Nadine greatly enjoyed tending to her flowers and gardens. However, most importantly, she treasured those times spent with her family and friends. Nadine made a profession of faith at a young age and was a lifetime member of Concord Christian Church. She was known to be one of the sweetest, most loving, and caring person you could have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She devoted her life to taking care of her family, friends, and others in need. Nadine was carried safely home to be with her Lord on the afternoon of Saturday, August 2, 2014 from Rosewood Manor of Richland, having attained the age of 83 years, 5 months and 22 days. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Nadine leaves behind to cherish her memory two children: Linda Cade and her husband Robert of Holts Summit, MO, Randy Duncan and his wife Kathy of Crocker, MO one sister, Geraldine Shelton of Brumley, MO; four grandchildren: Heather Duncan and husband Billy Sooter of Springfield, MO, Christopher Cade of Holts Summit, MO, Holly Herndon and husband Jason Herndon of Crocker, MO, and Jami Cade of Grandview, MO; four great grandchildren: Keagan, Karter, Cruz, Saydee, and one step great grandchild, Jaylee, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, and husband, Nadine was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom “Floyd”, Paul “Dick” and Farris Long; and three sisters, Ruby Irwin, Marie Ashmore, and Millie Rowland. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7, 2014, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Rev. Lee Todd officiating. Favorite hymns included “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Mansion over the Hilltop.” Serving as escorts were Roy Shelton, Ray Shelton, Kenneth Shelton, Robert Cade, James Routh and Christopher Cade. Burial followed in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery, Crocker, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
