Pamela Ann Eaken

October 18, 1950 - January 19, 2017

Pamela Ann Eaken, daughter of James Barker Hubbard and Barbara Jane (Dilley) Hubbard, was born October 18, 1950 in Alton, Illinois. She passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017, in Barnes-Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, Missouri having attained the age of sixty-six years. As a young girl, Pamela grew up in Alton and graduated from Roxanna High School. Shortly after graduation, Pamela met Dorel Monroe Eaken and they were united in marriage on September 21, 1969. Pamela and Dorel moved to the Richland, Missouri area and were blessed with one daughter, Claudia and shared over 47 years of marriage together. Pamela was a hardworking woman and dedicated to helping provide for her family. She made the trip every day to Jefferson City where she was employed at Chesebrough Ponds for several years and then worked at Richland Care Center for 10 years before her health began to decline. In her spare time, Pamela liked to read, do embroidery work, jigsaw puzzles and watch TV. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 240. Pamela will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Dorel of the home; her daughter, Claudia Sue Myers (Bobby) of Richland, MO; her mother, Barbara Hubbard of Alton, IL; her sister, Debbie McDonald (Jim) of East Alton, IL; a nephew, James McDonald; and one great-nephew; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Pamela was preceded in death by her father, James Barker Hubbard. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Larry Atkins officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang “Lily of the Valley”, “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art”. Serving as escorts were Bobby Myers, Rex Morgan, Rick Shaffer, Larry Lane, Jeremy Mashburn, Richard Steward and Logan Barber. Serving as honorary escort was Clyde Winfrey. Burial followed in the Elm Grove Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Pamela Eaken and may be left at the funeral home.
