Peggy Lou Wilson
August 4, 1947 - May 13, 2022
Peggy Lou Wilson daughter of the late Marvin Warren Carroll and Fannie Charlotte (Sloan) Carroll was born August 4, 1947, in Richland, Missouri, where she grew up and attended school in Richland and Swedeborg. Peggy met and fell in love with Lonnie “Dean” Wilson. They married June 19, 1964, in their hometown of Richland, spending their entire lives together while raising their three children, Mike, Marvin, and Deena. Peggy and Dean were inseparable. God blessed them with over fifty-seven years together before Peggy’s passing. She loved her family and looked forward to spending time with each one. Peggy enjoyed cooking meals for them and was known to make the best Cream Pie ever, along with her mouthwatering soups. Peggy also worked outside the home at the Costal Yacht Company in Richland, and the Junction Pit Stop for over 19 years. Peggy loved and adored her 3 legged, “Baby Kitty” that she, and Dean had saved after being dumped. She enjoyed music shows, wrestling, fishing, reading magazines, word puzzles, crocheting, watching deer graze while she and Dean took their daily car rides to the cemetery, and trips to the farm. Peggy was quite talented and could play the piano, organ, and accordion by ear. Surrounded by her family, on the evening of Friday, May 13, 2022, while at her home in Richland, Peggy left this world, and its troubles behind, having attained the age of 74. Peggy leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, and best friend, Dean of Richland; three children, Mike Wilson (Kathie) of Richland, MO, Marvin Wilson (Roberta) of Richland, MO, and Deena Wilson-Henry (Bobby) of Richland, MO; nine grandchildren, Kristi Polodna (Cody), Michael Wilson (Kaitlyn), Michelle Cooke (Eric), Triston Wilson, Steven Arnold (Courtney), Chad Orr, Dylan Orr (Alisha) Justin Oursbourn (Brynna), and John Curtis Oursbourn; nineteen great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Evalyn Decker- Sprucebank, Wanda Jones, three brothers, Gary, Wayne, and Marvin Carroll, and beloved infant great grandson, Christopher Allen Oursbourn. Peggy enjoyed the simple things in life. God gave her the things that mattered most; the love of family, especially her grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, good friends, a place she called home, and the love of a good man who cherished her, as she cherished him. Peggy will forever be remembered and loved, until we meet again. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. Songs, “In the Sweet Bye and By,” “Amazing Grace,” and “In the Garden” were played. Escorts included, Bobby Perez, Michael Wilson, Justin Oursbourn, Cody Polodna, John Curtis Oursbourn, and Eric Cooke. Serving as Honorary Escorts were Jr. Starnes, Danny Paul, Chad Orr, Troy Mayer, Mike Wilson, and Marvin Wilson. Peggy was laid to rest in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. Contributions in memory of Peggy Wilson can be made and left at the funeral home.
