Ralph Gillmore Jr.

August 6, 1964 - February 7, 2022

Ralph Gillmore, Jr., son of the late Ralph Sr. and Delores Gail (Demster) Gillmore was born August 6, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri, and lived his entire life in his beloved community of Richland before passing away on Monday, February 7, 2022 while at Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri. “Ralphie” had attained the age of fifty-seven. Ralphie graduated from Richland High School. He loved people and enjoyed his friends. Ralphie enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball, and listening to music, especially Reba McEntire. Ralphie loved riding his bike and the townspeople always looked forward to seeing Ralphie ride it around town. His favorite stopping place was the local Casey’s where Ralphie loved saying “Hello” to the employees, and greeting the customers as they walked in. He liked opening the door and sharing his beautiful smile, before giving out a warm hug to his many friends and neighbors. Ralphie extended his socializing with the crowds while watching his favorite basketball team, the Richland Bears. As everyone knew, Ralphie was the Bear’s biggest fan! The school showed their love to him by presenting Ralphie with several gifts, among his favorites, a signed basketball and jacket. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Richard Gillmore. Ralph is survived by his six siblings: Nell Jackson (Charles) of Nahunta, GA, Sharon Rister, Marilyn Gillmore, Ralph Michael "Mike" Gillmore, Kathy Henson, Kimberly Hess (Gary) all of Richland, MO; one sister-in-law: Jackie Gillmore of Richland, MO; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Ralphie was a bright spot in everyone’s day. His warm smile, sweet nature, and loving hugs will forever be missed by all those he knew and loved. Ralphie may be gone, but he will never be forgotten! A celebration of life service was held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, in the First Baptist Church of Richland, Missouri, with Pastor Matt Brady officiating. Recorded song selections included, “Dancing In the Sky,” “In the Arms of the Angels,” “Go Rest High on That Mountain,” “Jealous of the Angels,” and “Back to God.” Inurnment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are being accepted In Memory of “Ralphie” Gillmore and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland funeral home.
