Robert "Bob" August Saltzman

September 27, 1945 - July 19, 2017

Robert August Saltzman, son of the late Melvin Saltzman and Ruth Wolf Saltzman, was born September 27, 1945 in Richland, Missouri. As a young boy, he lived in Richland, Missouri for a time before moving to Knox City, Missouri. Robert was blessed with five children, whom he dearly loved: Terry, Travis, Trent, Eric, Vegas and Trista. Robert was a hardworking man and took great pride in providing for his family. He worked as a carpenter building many homes and apartment complexes. He was also an iron worker with Associated Crafts and laid floor tile and carpet on several commercial jobs (nursing homes and department stores). He was most proud of his work with the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop in Richland where he taught many the arts of woodworking and in the process made many special friends there. Robert passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Lebanon, Missouri having attained the age of 71 years. He will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his four sons: Terry Saltzman (Bonnie) of Lebanon, MO, Eric Schaffer of Novinger, MO, Trent Saltzman of Hannibal, MO, Vegas Jackson of Pittsburg, PA; one daughter: Trista Martin of Newton, IA; eight grandchildren: Brittany and Brandi Saltzman, Samantha Stagers, Jessica, Tyler and Terron Saltzman, Jaden and Tierney Adams; seven great-grandchildren: Kayleigh, Auttumn, Jaxson, Khloe, Noah, Aleeah and Aubree; three sisters: Glena Manes of Lebanon, MO, Joan Patton of Crocker, MO and Kathy Keen (James) of Lebanon, MO; one brother: Buck Saltzman of Lebanon, MO; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: David and Clair Saltzman; maternal grandparents: George and Lucy Wolf; his wife: Charlotte Saltzman; one sister: Shirley Moore; one son: Travis Shane Saltzman; three nephews: John David Keen, Gene Moore and Kelly Moore; and one grandson: Terry Alexander. Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2017, 2017 in the Memorial Chapel, Richland, Missouri, with Pastor Kevin Ranfield officiating. Favorite music selections included, “Go Rest High on that Mountain,” “The Prodigal Son’s Prayer,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and “I Can Only Imagine.” Serving as escorts were Luke Keen, Rick Schaffer, Jim Patton, Ed Moore, Brad Moore and Josh Keen. Honorary Escorts included David Saltzman, Larry Stafford and the Lebanon Fire Department. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robert Saltzman and may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland.
