Robert "Robbie" David Shockley
February 4, 1979 - April 28, 2022
Robert David Shockley, son of Robert Edwin “Bob” Shockley and Mary Elizabeth (Bills) Shockley was born February 4, 1979, in Springfield, Missouri, and entered into his heavenly home Thursday, April 28, 2022, at his home in Richland, Missouri, having attained the age of forty-three. Robbie grew up in Richland where he attended school. He enjoyed riding his bike as a youngster around town. Robbie attended Vo-tec classes during his junior and senior years of High School in Waynesville, taking auto body classes there, before graduating from Richland High School in 1998. Robbie made a profession of faith at an early age while attending First Baptist Church of Richland. While there, Robbie served as one of the church’s soundmen from 1997-2015. He was currently a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church, Buckhorn, Missouri. Robbie loved both of his extended church families. He appreciated the love and prayers he received from his many friends there. Robbie had a servants heart and stood ready and willing to help anyway he could. Robbie’s parents instilled an excellent work ethic into their son’s life which provided Robbie’s employers with a dedicated, honest, hardworking young man. He started working as a sacker, stocker, and produce man for the old Evan’s Grocery store in Richland from 1995-1999; where Robbie saved his money to buy his first truck. Later Robbie went on to work for Windemere Baptist Conference Center in Roach, MO from 1999-2003, as a sound set-up man, before joining Walmart in St. Robert, MO, as a floor crew staffer from 2003-2016. He became Laquey school’s custodian from 2017-2022. In April of 2022, Robbie had just began working for Richland Schools as their custodian before his passing. However, the one job Robbie loved most was that as a volunteer fireman for his beloved community of Richland for the last twenty-five years. His hobbies included working on, hooking up, and programming radios, anything electronic…Robbie enjoyed! He liked watching movies on TV, keeping up with the Springfield Cardinals, St. Louis Cardinals, and KC Chiefs, being on his computer finding inspirational quotes, especially ones that made him laugh. Robbie just could not wait to share them with his family or friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George David Shockley (1995) and Cora “Gladys” (Procter) Shockley (1999), and maternal grandparents, Rev. William Elmer Bills (1993) and Rev. Gretchen “Neoma” (Carlson) Bills (1984), his mother, Mary Elizabeth (Bills) Shockley (2015), and other beloved family members. Robbie leaves to celebrate his memory, his father Bob Shockley of the home, and his sister, Mary Ann Matthews of Richland, MO, several other relatives, and friends. Robbie was a man who just loved the simple things in life. He loved his family and cherished his friends. He was a kind, wonderful son, brother, and dear friend. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robbie Shockley and may be left at the funeral home.
