February 11, 1922 - March 21, 2020
Ruth Naomi (Anderson) Goodrich, daughter of the late Orvil Preston and Frances Lavada (Hammock) Anderson, was born February 11, 1922 in Hanna, Missouri. She went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 21, 2020 in the Life Care Center of Waynesville having attained the age of 98 years. As a young girl, Ruth grew up in the Hanna area and attended school. On November 29, 1941, Ruth was united in marriage to Riley H. Goodrich in Waynesville, Missouri. They shared over 47 years of marriage together and were blessed with four daughters: Mary Lou, Naiah, Linda Gale and Diann. Ruth was a hardworking woman and took great pride in helping to provide for her family; whether that was working outside the home or maintaining their home. Some of her outside of home employments she had was as a custodian the first year the Laquey School was in existence, dry cleaners at Fort Leonard Wood and in St. Robert. Mostly, she was able to stay at home and raise her girls. In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and flowers. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, especially all the grandchildren and great, great-great grandchildren. At an early age, Ruth had made a profession of faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Buckhorn. Ruth will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, four daughters: Mary Lou Ellzey (Wes) of Waynesville, MO, Naiah Baker (Keith) of Shelbina, MO, Linda Gale Lewis of Laquey, MO and Diann Goodrich of Laquey, MO; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Riley H. Goodrich; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Private family graveside services were held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2020 in the Idumea Cemetery of Laquey, Missouri with Pastor Danny Graves officiating. The songs “If There’s A Phone in Heaven” by Mike Manuel and “I Want to Stroll Over Heaven with You” by Alan Jackson were played. Serving as escorts were family and friends. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
