Stanna Lea "Tami" Johnson

May 16, 1966 - May 6, 2020

Stanna Lea “Tami” Johnson, daughter of the late Tom J. Johnson and Rosalyn (Bekis) Johnson, was born May 16, 1966 in Shiprock, New Mexico. She attended and graduated from Kirtland Central High School in Kirtland, New Mexico. After graduating from high school, Tami entered the Job Corp in Clearfield and worked there for a few years before moving to Denver, Colorado. After leaving Denver, she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico before coming to Waynesville in 2013. Tami was a hardworking woman and never gave a second thought to helping others…it was second nature to her. She worked in health care as a CNA for several years and after moving to Waynesville, she worked at Life Care Center of Waynesville, Dixon Nursing and Rehab, Sunset Village and then came back to Life Care Center of Waynesville. In her spare time, Tami enjoyed coloring, playing bingo, taking walks and going to movies. Most importantly, she loved her family and spending time with them was always a highlight of her day. She treasured those times and always looked forward to seeing her family. Stanna “Tami” Johnson passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 in the Life Care Center of Waynesville having attained the age of 53 years. She will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her. Tami leaves to cherish her memory, her son: David Begay, Jr. of Waynesville, MO; six siblings: Arnold W. Johnson of Denver, CO, Marlene Gonzalez of Nenahnezad, NM, Verna Johnson of Nenahnezad, NM, Zelma Larson (Rodney) of Waynesville, MO, Philbert Johnson of Nenahnezad, NM and Leonidas Johnson (Anita) of Nenahnezad, NM; many grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Tami was preceded in death by four siblings: Sylvia Dan, Clara Johnson, Irvin Johnson and Ralph Johnson. Even though she is gone from our sight, Tami will live on in our hearts forever. Visitation was held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2020 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert. Tami returned home to Farmington, New Mexico for funeral and burial services on Monday, May 11, 2020. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Stanna Lea “Tami” Johnson and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
