Susan (Jones) McKee

October 14, 1952 - January 7, 2020

Susan McKee, daughter of Kenneth Hastings and Beverly Jane (Smyth) Jones was born October 14, 1952, in Natick, Massachusetts. Sue grew up and attended school in Medway, Massachusetts until her parents moved to Garfield, Virginia, graduating from High School there in 1970. On May 18, 2003, Sue was married to Edward James McKee in Richland, Missouri. Together they shared over 16 years together before her passing on the morning of Tuesday, January 7, 2020 with Eddie by her side, having attained the age of 67. Sue and Eddie enjoyed life and lived each moment to its fullest. Sue worked several different jobs over the course of her lifetime; one included floral design at area flowers shops, waitressing at many local restaurants. She was a people person, never meeting a stranger. Sue had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh, which is why she was so well liked by many of her customers. Sue also enjoyed caring for the elderly and homebound; and was willing to help them with whatever they needed at the time of her visit to their homes. Sue was artistic and very talented. Her hobbies included oil painting and creating beautiful floral arrangements; however, the things Sue treasured most in life were the times spent with her family and friends. Sue leaves behind to cherish her memory, her devoted loving husband, Eddie McKee of the home; two sisters, Jennifer Green (David) of Mashpee, MA, and Carolyn Macedo (Olavo) of Canton, MA; one niece Nicole Macedo of Canton, MA; three nephews, Scott Green (Meghan) of Bluffton, SC, Justin Pohl (Verena) of Stoughton, MA, and Ryan Macedo of Canton, MA; great nephew, Cameron Green and great niece, Vivienne Pohl; Sue’s dearest friend, Karen Douglass of Lebanon, MO; several other relatives and friends. Sue was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth (Brown) Smyth, her parents, Kenneth Hastings Jones and Beverly Jane (Smyth) Jones Stewart and stepfather, Malcolm Stewart. Sue’s effervescent personality will be missed however, the lasting memories she made while on this earth will forever remain in the hearts and minds of all those who knew and loved her. Family and friends gathered together from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2020, in the Memorial Chapel of Richland to celebrate Sue’s life. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Susan McKee may be left at the Memorial Chapel of Richland. Online condolences may be left at www.memorialchapelsandcrematory.com
