Alletta Ailene House

Alletta Aileen Paddock was born on May 24, 1937, in Marley, Missouri, to Ortega Paddock and Addie Mae (Wise) Paddock. She grew up in southern Missouri attending Tucker Elementary School and Naylor High School. Her young years were spent on a small farm in Oxly, Missouri, with her parents and six siblings: Mary, Juanita, Jackie, Faye, Dave, and Doug. In the summers, they were joined by her nieces, Bobbie and Marilyn. She also had two nieces who lived nearby, Janet and Arlene, who also joined in the happy mix. They were very close growing up, enjoying the special pleasures that rural America offered in the 40’s and 50’s: playing barefoot outside, swimming and fishing in the nearby creek, catching lightning bugs in the summers, and the inside activities that the winters dictated such as quilting and baking. Alletta had many happy memories from her childhood. On May 5, 1956, Alletta married Clyde House, Jr. and they had three children: Mike, Sandy, and Dale. Alletta, Clyde, and family spent the majority of their years in Florida. When Clyde retired from Eastern Airlines, they bought a farm in Missouri and lived there for several years. While Alletta and Clyde divorced after 44 years of marriage, they remained in contact with each other until Clyde preceded her in death. Alletta moved to Colorado in 2000 to live close to her sister, Jackie and husband George. She loved her time in Colorado. While living there she worked for the Chamber of Commerce in Fruita, Colorado, and was active in her church. Her last years were spent in Richland, Missouri. She attended the First Baptist Church in Richland and was faithful in attendance. Alletta loved the Lord and began each day reading aloud from her Bible. When Alletta’s health began to decline, she decided to move to the Richland Care Center. As usual for Alletta, she became a favorite there. She enjoyed the activities, especially Bingo. At one point, she had amassed $173.00 in dimes winning Bingo games! She loved bright colors, flowers, and sunshiny days. She brightened up any day. Alletta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, and siblings Mary Waldemer, Juanita Whittom, and Faye Dickson. She leaves to mourn her passing her children (Mike, Sandy, and Dale) and their families, her brothers Douglas Paddock (Karen) of Doniphan, Missouri, and David Paddock (Linda) of Richland, Missouri, and her sister Jackie Jones of Boulder, Colorado. She will also be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. Alletta passed away on November 3, 2024, with her niece Bobbie by her side. She changed residences for the last time and now is home with her Lord. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024 in the Memorial Chapel of Waynesville, Missouri with Pastor Matt Brady officiating. The songs "In the Garden", "Amazing Grace", and "Celebrate Me Home" were played. Serving as escorts were Jeffrey Paddock Hunter Paddock, Todd Williams, Gary D. Paddock, J.R. Sherrell, and Randy Echartea. Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Richland, Missouri. Services were under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert & Richland. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Alletta House to the Richland First Baptist Church Scholarship Fund and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
