Betty Louise Margaret (Bilyeu) Morgan

Betty Margaret (Bilyeu) Morgan daughter of the late William H. and Lillie Pearl (Bangs) Bilyeu was born in Mulvane, Kansas on April 1, 1925. Growing up Betty attended school at Wise Hill Country School. She then went on to Billings High School for only one year. Unfortunately, Betty’s mother passed away during that time and Betty being the oldest child of six, had to leave school and stay at home taking care of the home and her siblings. Betty accepted Christ at the age of fifteen and was baptized in a creek close to Clever. After Betty moved to Richland she became a member of First Baptist Church of Richland. Through the years Betty taught Sunday School Classes and sang in the church choir for several years. On June 16, 1943, Betty married Vernon H. Morgan, Jr. in Clever, Missouri, and to this blessed union 6 precious children were born, Kenneth, Ronald, Marleisa, twin boys: Marty Ray and Monty Alan, and Tony Rex. Betty often said, “When God made children; He gave me six of the very best!” Betty having a big heart and loads of love to share also opened up her home for nearly sixteen years caring for Foster Children. Betty’s family was her greatest treasures in this life. She was proud of each and every one and felt so blessed to have such a wonderful family. She especially loved her daughter-in-law’s and son-in-law as if they were her own. Betty also had a special place in her heart for Carol and Eddie Reiman who she adored. Over the years Betty’s hobbies included crocheting, reading, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, canning and freezing her harvest. She loved her little dog Penny. However, Betty loved her Lord and relished in the comfort she received from Him. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Vernon (April 16, 2000), and three brothers: an infant brother and Rev. Max Bilyeu and Rev. Clifford Bilyeu; two sisters: Helen Keeling, Doris Ramsey and her husband, Charles. Betty was carried safely home to be with her Lord on the morning of Thursday, November 26, 2015 from her home in Richland, having attained the age of 90 years. Betty leaves to cherish her memory her six children: Kenneth Morgan (Gayle) of Strafford, MO, Ronald Morgan (Linda) of Tremont, MS, Marlesia Sayles (Richard) of Kansas City, MO, Marty Morgan (Patty) of Iberia, MO, Monty Morgan (Mellissa) of Waynesville, MO and Tony Morgan of Richland, MO; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren; Carol and Eddie Reiman; several other family and friends. Betty’s warm smile, gentle hugs and loving heart will be always fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015 in the Memorial Chapels of Richland with Pastor Bob Lilly officiating. A family recording of special music was played. Serving as pallbearers were Billy Morgan, Eric Sayles, David Morgan, Ryan Sayles, Timmy Morgan, Patrick Sayles, Rex Morgan, Jack Watts and Buddy Morgan. Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery of Waynesville, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Richland.
